So remember last week we were eating Lamb’s Brains and downing Oyster Shooters as part of a special tasting menu night at Ukiyo Bar?
This Sunday the 16th, a special Raw Foods night will kick off around 7pm at Ukiyo on Exchequer Street and will follow the same theme as the Evolution of the Ciaran Crawford Acion Figure Doll night. Not only will there be a six course tasting menu, but you will also be treated to entertainment in the form of live music and spoken word.
The emphasis this Sunday is on cooking with entirely raw produce. Have a gander at the menu below to see what kind of ingenious treats Natasha Czopor, the chef of the evening, has in store for you. All raw!
Watermelon Square
with longans, thin slivers of horseradish with micro greens with fresh ground black pepper and olive oil
Yellow Courgette Pasta
with sprouted walnuts and hazel pieces,
with marigold, thyme, oregano, mint flowers, fennel and basil leaves,
hemp seed hearts, marinated with cold pressed olive oil, lemon and Himalayan crystal salt with a dressing of red pepper and creamed sprouted sunflower seeds
Nut Cheese Roll
wrapped in various olives, with cayenne, cumin, basil with spicy pine nuts and
tomato vinaigrette served with garlic chips, purple basil micro greens
and dragon crackers
Foraged Chiffoned Sweet Cicely Leaves, with Wild Foraged & Grown Berries
(Jostaberries, Red Currant, White Currants, Black Currants, Wild Plums),
topped with a Wild Water Mint and Raw Cacao Nib Cashew Nut Ice Cream
drizzled with a deep and dark Raw Chocolate Sauce
Cashew Nut Cheese Selection
3 different cheeses wrapped in mixed ground peppercorns, fennel flowers, cumin seeds placed on an array of wild foraged and garden grown chenopodicae leaves
(Rainbow Chard, Tree Spinach, Fat Hen, Beetroot, Perpetual Spinach, Annual Spinach, Good King Henry) with sprouted wheat and onion flat bread
A Selection of Ecstatic Raw Chocolate Delights
Its a surprise but what I can tell you is that we use
Raw Equadorian Cacao ‘Arriba’ Crillio Bean.
Oooooh! I love surprises!
Now, does that, or does that not, all sound amazing?
As with the previous night, the food will set you back €40 and you can add to the experience by putting in anadditional €20 for a five course wine tasting, especially suited to your meal.
Head to The Ukiyo Website to make a booking, or pop into their lovely establishment on Exchequer Street next door to Fallon & Byrne to make a booking in person.
See you there on Sunday night!

Hi Some Say Cocoa – the choccies were pretty amazing all right! And the ice-cream was a delightfully peculiar texture. You can read all about it in the post above this one! Thanks for visiting the blog:)
